Happy Birthday Batman!

Copyright DC Comics.

It has been 34 years this month since the release of Frank Miller’s groundbreaking graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns.

A far cry from the cheesy caped crusader of the 1960s, Miller’s story reimagines the character as the grittier and morally compromised hero we are more familiar with today.

The Dark Knight Returns has had such a lasting impact it has served as the inspiration for all incarnations of Batman since. It also established the graphic novel as a “legitmate” literary art form in popular culture, inspiring many of our favourite authors including Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, David Mitchell, and Claire North.

We have a great selection of graphic novels, including The Dark Knight Returns. Now that we’re open again, why not come down and try one out. Feel free to ask our staff for some recommendations.

Eaton Community Library to Re-Open

We’re back! Shire of Dardanup would like to announce the reopening of Eaton Community Library from Monday 8 June.

That means you can now browse our collection at both our Eaton and Dardanup branch or use our computers for printing and copying.

The Eaton Community Library will be open from 8am-4pm weekdays with a closure from 12 noon to 1pm for cleaning. We are also open from and 9am – 12 noon Saturdays.

As always, staff and customer health and safety is our top priority so to ensure everyone is protected there are some strict new guidelines that have to be followed, including:

      • Customers will be required to sign in on a visitors register
      • Safe social distancing measures of 1.5m must be maintained.
      • Any items handled in the library must be returned to a returns trolley.
      • Public PCs must be booked before hand by contacting us.

Also, our new delivery service was such a success we are looking at plans for it to continue. We will have more details in the next few weeks so watch this space!

We’d like to thank everyone in the community for their patience and support and we look forward to seeing you back in the library!

Home Delivery Registration

There are two ways you can register for home delivery services.

1. Register to select your items online

This option allows customers to use our online catalogue to browse, select, and hold items in our collection themselves. We highly recommend this service as it allows you to have the items you’ve chosen to be delivered to your front door. Our online catalogue is easy to use and if you have any problems you can contact us for further assistance.
