Summer Reading Challenge a success!

A great summer of reading!

Shire of Dardanup Library Services would like to thank everyone who participated in our Universe of Stories Summer Reading Challenge.

With more than 80 kids registering, it was fantastic to see so many excited readers coming in to tell us how much they had read.

Our annual Summer Reading Challenge began in 2018 to encourage kids to continue reading over the school holidays and avoid the summer slide. All our readers receive a bag of goodies and activities to help them stay with the program over the holidays and give them plenty of chances to win some great prizes at our Summer Reading Wrap Party. This year, children’s author Steve Heron joined us to present his fun-filled “Art of Writing Funny Stuff” workshop and then stayed to draw our grand prize winner.

Prize Winners

Congratulations to our lucky Grand Prize winner, Emily Hickling who won an illustrated Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire plus a $50 iTunes voucher and also to our workshop prize winner Ethan Geluk, who took home the 2020 Guinness Book of World Records and a copy of Steve Heron’s Maximus.

Well done again to everyone who took part and we look forward to doing it all again next summer!
