Join Gabriel Evans on 7 April for a hands-on session thinking up story ideas and creating illustrations.
Gabriel is a Western Australian children’s book author and illustrator. Working primarily in watercolour and pencil, he creates books from a small studio near a river, surrounded by oak trees. Including favourites such as Norton and the Bear, Ollie and Augustus, and his latest release Blue Flower, Gabriel has worked on over twenty-five books, with two notable CBCA Book of the Year nominations and two shortlisted Speech Pathology awards.
This workshop will be a hands-on creative session. Kids will participate in a range of illustration activities and gain insight into key visual literacy tools. Activities include character design, creating an illustration, developing picture book ideas and interpreting text visually. All accompanied by demonstrations, visual examples and a Q&A.
