Author conversation enjoyed by all

On Wednesday evening, 19 June, Eaton Community Library hosted the first in our Author Conversation series, with Amanda Curtin and Anne-Louise Willoughby.

The West Australian authors spoke about their lives as writers and their work in what was an insightful and often lively discussion. The discussion centred very much around their latest biographies on Australian artists Kathleen O’Connor and Nora Heysen and looked at their similarities, differences, and challenges. Amanda and Anne-Louise shared their intimate knowledge of both women and how family, colleagues, and times impacted on their work and lives.

Following the discussion, the audience engaged in a Q&A where the authors elaborated on some of their previous books and characters and also an interesting discussion about how and why they write. Attendees then stayed on for drinks and refreshments as they met with the authors for further conversation and a book signing.

We are incredibly grateful to all who attended for helping to make it such a wonderful evening and would like to thank Amanda and Anne-Louise for making themselves available.
