Library and Information Week 2018 May 21-27

This month we are celebrating National Library and Information Week 21 – 27 May 2018 with the theme being “Find yourself in a Library”

Library and Information Week aims to raise the profile of libraries and information service professionals in Australia and showcase the many and varied resources and services that libraries provide to the community.

The event has been organised by the Australian Library and Information Association to promote the value of reading and literacy, the importance of Australia’s book industry and the role of libraries.

We have Library workshops during this week to celebrate and to encourage you to find yourself in a library and to see what we can do for you.

Come in for a tour, just ask one of our lovely staff.

We are starting off the week with our e-resources workshop Monday the 21st of May at 3.45pm. Bookings are essential. Click here to book.

We will be focusing on what free e-resources we have available through our library. Learn how to stream free movies as well as access free audio and e-books.

We then have our National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday the 23rd of May at 11.00am.

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously in libraries, this year we have Hickory Dickory Dash written by Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood.

Bookings are essential. Click here to book.
