e-Films at the Library

With our current launch of Kanopy our free e-film streaming service, Eaton Community Library is now doing “Films at the Library” where we will be streaming films live on the TV here in the library. This month we are starting off with a documentary

Harry Potter – The whistle blower hero – Tuesday the 9th of January 2018 3.00pm to 3.40pm

What can the surprising success of Harry Potter teach us about successful heroes? And what do his battles against Lord Voldemort tell us about our world today and the need for love, faith, and inner heroism?

And then later in the month we are showing

Trashed with Jeremy Irons – Tuesday the 30th of January 2018 2.30pm to 4.10pm

Jeremy Irons sets out to discover the extent and effects of the global waste problem, as he travels around the world to beautiful destinations tainted by pollution. This is a meticulous, brave investigative journey that takes Irons (and us) from scepticism to sorrow and from horror to hope.

Kanopy provides access to one of the most unique collections of films in the world – including award-winning documentaries, indie and foreign films, must-see classics and blockbuster movies.
