Eaton: Friday 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th – 10:30am – 11:00am

It’s easier than ever to get a library card at the Shire of Dardanup libraries!

You can register online to get a library card, then come in to the library to complete the process.

Go to the online library catalogue and click on the Join link.

Complete the registration form, read through the Terms and Conditions, click Accept, and make note of your temporary ID number.

Bring that number and your government-issued ID to either the Eaton or Dardanup libraries and pick up your library card!

To make the process even easier, we’ve added a registration kiosk at the Eaton library.

Novel Conversations

The power and convenience of the catalogue, 24/7!

widgetWho knew a small search box could be so powerful?  The search widget on the library’s home page can search for books, DVDs, and audio books.  But it’s also your access to eBooks and eAudiobooks, lets you place holds on library materials, and even allows you to request items from other libraries.

The library’s new online catalogue is shared with 22 other libraries throughout the South West Library Consortium.  Not only can you search the Shire of Dardanup libraries, but you will be able to search the catalogues of all the libraries in the consortium.  This allows the libraries’ collections to be expanded beyond their physical walls, and provides you with a wider selection of library resources.

By searching for any term in the catalogue widget on the library’s homepage, you will be directed to the full catalogue.  Once there, you can place a hold (reserve) on items, even if they are still on order.  Be sure to select the pickup location; you can pick it up at any of the libraries in the South West Library Consortium.

login     Log into your library account using your library card number and PIN to place a hold, or click on My Account to see what you already have on hold.  You can even edit your hold list to remove an item or to change the pickup location. The My Account tab will also show what you have checked out, when it is due, and allow you to renew items.

If you want to request something but do not find it in the catalogue, click the Send a Request link.  From this link, you can:

  • Request an ILL (inter-library loan) from another library
  • Change your address
  • Make a comment or suggestion, or ask a question
  • Ask an in-depth research question

As an added conveebooknience, the catalogue lists eBooks and eAudiobooks as well as books.  You can download  an eBook directly from the catalogue to read on your computer, or download to your tablet device.

The new catalogue is a powerful and convenient resource.  For more information on using the online catalogue, check with any of our Eaton library staff.
